Throw some paint (even if rattle can) on the step side and it may just change her mind :)

I like the flat bed on the J20.

A deal is a deal, those wouldn't even make up one row of my collection, I lost exact count so my quick answer is always half a dozen J-trucks, and half a dozen Wags, I need a good widetrack Cherokee to build someday.

The J 20 is "The War Truck" not sure what to name the step side yet.
The step side has trans problems, T177, let the clutch out and in any gear all I get is grinding sound. The
grinding sound does get faster as I go into in each higher gear, I don't
know much about manuals. I have the top cover off but everything looks good, shift forks and all. I have
a friend coming over to look at it for me.

Sounds like the t-case is partially in neutral. Trans is most likely fine.

Went ahead and pulled the trans too and the splines are shot as well. Man, that is the first time I have ever pulled a trans up through the floor. Makes it kinda easy. LOL

Is the Sport Side powered by an I6 or a 360?

360, planned to use it as my DD for a while. Trying to keep the miles off my F350. It's cooler to drive up in a J10 step side than a F350 too.

A couple pics of my J 20 Flatbed

Got alot of work to do on this thing, not sure what engine I will run in this yet. I plan on using this as a work truck in the Uwharrie National Forest as I volunteer for the forest service and am a FS saywer. We work on the trails to keep them open and I clean up after storms. Hard to do this out of a Wagoneer but have been getting by.

Throw some stake sides on that and it will be a whole lot better for cutting.

Does it run now?

I think 2x4's will fit in the stake pockets on that bed. It looks good on there.

It came without the drivetrain so I have to come up with that. I do have the drive train out of my daughter's 95 GC 5.2/46rh/249 I could put in it. The transfer case needs to be a passenger side drop though.

I was thinking on making stake sides out of white oak. Make it look like the stake sides on the Dodge little Red Express.

Switch from the NV249 to a Dodge NP208, but I don't care for the integrated harness in the Grand Cherokees (alarm, door locks, etc wired into the computer no go system) I'll be looking for one like that when I get rid of my 5 ton IH.

Whats bad is I was out your way several months ago, I had to ship some equipment back from a mine and could of put that engine, trans, and t case in a crate along with my other stuff. I guess timing is everything. LOL
