I just got the e-mail notification that someone had posted to my thread..... :o

Been busy with life, and the cold spell kinda put a halt to my momentum. I took the bed off and now need to clean the frame and get it ready.

Wait, are you saying your life isn't entirely made up of Jeeps? With as many as you have, I wouldn't expect you to have time to have a "life" :P

LMAO, My biggest problem is that I'm married with children and have no garage to escape to. Seriously cuts into the Jeep time...

Well, got off my rear and made some cab mounts and got the cab mounted. I threw the fenders, grill and hood on just to see where it sets. I think I need to raise the cab a bit. Bed will be next. \:D/
Without further interruption, the pics... :-@

My Uncle had a Wagon and truck that were both on 70's wagoneer frame/drivetrains. The spacing from the front was almost identical to what you have there. On the wagon he had to cut and shorten the frame. But as I recall for the truck it was fairly close to where it should be.

The wheel base is within an inch on these two so it is a perfect candidate. I have the pieces to put my '51 Willys Parkway conversion (barn doors and cut in side windows) onto an '85 GW frame shortened 4". I also have most of the pieces to do a 4.5 stroker, NV3550, 231 into it. :-bd

Nothing to get pics of, but lined up and drilled the cab mounts. found some thicker doughnuts for the front and it made a difference. Next will be getting the bed moved over and to check the fit. Woke up this morning to 3" of snow on everything. :-w

I've thought about a project like this for a long time.
Do you plan on shortening the frame?
If so, then how do you work around the spring? Are there shorter springs that will work?
Does the steering gearbox get in the way?

If your asking about the front, I'm going to leave it and just skirt it like they were originally, between the grill and bumper. The gear box is close, I will have to see what is needed hose wise to clear. at worst, I'll do a 1" body lift to gain clearance. If one wanted to, I'm sure there is a shorter spring pack out there, I'm just building with parts I have.

Flint, by Monday afternoon, most of it was gone. :ymapplause:
I love this area... ;)

I'd say the front overhang is begging for a front bumper and maybe a winch mount...just sayin...

Cleaned the bed out for the first time and to my amazement, There is very little rust. the floors and sides are solid, and original. There is one patch in the drivers front bedside, and it has custom age wrinkles. Got all but 4 bolts out, have to drop the tank to get to one. Just about to get it moved over to its new home.

Also found this in the bed of the Willys when I cleaned. Dont remember where I got it, but the 2 outside holes lined up with the 2 on the J-10 frame.
