True statement.
When I pulled the carpet out of the whole truck, the metal/paint under it looked like it just rolled off the assembly line, but carpet was absolutely falling apart. You could tear it like a single sheet of paper.
I did leave the leveling boards under the mat, so there is air gap there to allow any moisture to dry, and not trap directly against the metal and mat......what little we do get here. And no plans to do any fording of streams that deep, to have water flowing through the cab.

I like Monster Energy Drinks and the Bed Liner. ML now has liner that can be tinted with base coat color. Monster with a shot of Pre-workout is better than coffee in the morning. Whoop Whoop!
i agree, water will get trapped, thats why jeep installed carpet to suck up all the water possible, when new so you could buy another jeep, DUH the problem is every one here steps over a dollar to pick up pennies, replace the DAMN 40 year old rear window and tail gate seals and maybe just maybe you wouldnt have any leaks like when it left the factory, maybe you wouldnt have the rattles and wind noise either, but hey i know you 4dr guys have the added cost of all the added rubber seals
i only have a 2dr model but yoou want to be let in on something i replaced ALL the seals doors/windows/tailgate and guess what i have to roll down a window or slam the doors because it's air tight ,hum what a concept IMO

Mine has fresh weatherstripping. No moisture problems at all. But I don't want carpet in the back. I like the utilitarian aspect of a cargo area that I can throw bagged mulch or plants in from the garden center, or I can haul my mutt in even if she has muddy paws without worry. Ever since I purchased it 7 years ago, it has been sans rear carpet. I love it that way. Drove it today, misting rain, GSD was in the back, head out the tailgate window. I didn't have to worry about keeping any carpet clean.
Now, those 7 years of using the cargo area like a truck have left their marks on the cargo floor in the form of scratches.
I would like the color of the cargo floor to better match the minty condition honey colored shag I scored a few years ago on ebay.
I'm leaning toward Durabak.
Contrary to the earlier post about them not offering an exterior smooth...

i put in a sub floor marine plywood, and have a air space between the metal floor and the ply to allow any moisture to evap., and i covered it with coin mat flooring and added removable ty-down rings (aircraft cargo) style at numerous locations to allow versatility , as far as seal there are a lot here who dont spend the money on new seal then complain about water leaks DUH just m.o.
