The J20s, like your '79, with a 258 were only available for export :-bd
According to your VIN plate the '75 USAF rig was also a special order (G5124), at least for the paint (code 999)

what does the g5124 mean?

We need the jeep records to know what it means but unfortunately IIRC they were dumped by Chrysler
As said maybe it's just the paint which is a special order
Anyway it's a nice combo : 401 + 8000GVW.., wondering if this one got the HD "camper" package which came often with the 8000GVW option ?

Not sure actually that my "camper" package assumption is relevant..since it's an army truck

For info the jeep books say that the '75 camper package includes H.D. cooling(HD radiator, 7 blade fan), H.D. Battery(70A), H.D Alternator(62A), low profile mirrors with arm extensions, and requires 8000GVW option, sliding rear window and 9.5x16.5D or 7.50x16E tires. Th HD part of the camper package is also included in another option : the heavy duty option. Maybe your truck has simply the Heavy Duty option and not the camper package.

will have a look and see if it has some of the options. it had just a rear glass not a sliding window.

Bit late, but if you haven't already found him, talk to Andrew at Lighthouse Jeep. Near Diss, Norfolk (the original Norfolk, BTW...). Customer skills suck, but once you get talking SJ's, you'll be fine. Tell him Tim sent you.

Yes, I do. Also JJ, JC, J33p and Jeep Owners UK.

When are you coming down to Cambridge (the original one) to pick up the '76 Waggie? I'm the one after the roof. Are you enjoying Ade's trucks?

Yes, it's a small world! ;-)
