Thinking of my OK peeps tonight.

Post by dodgerammit »

Watching Ryan Hall at the moment and sending good vibes your way. It's looking like you guys are taking a beating. Southern OK (just below OKC around Springer, Davis, Sulpher, and Ardmore) feels like a second home given how often my wife and I have been there and love it. Stay safe and take cover. It's gonna be a long night.

Soggy but looks all good in NE OK this morning, lots of wind, rain, thunder and lightning. Not sure how much rain we got but it was a lot. One of the ponds I can see from the house was down about 8” and is overflowing by about 2” so we got at least 3”,maybe more. I know I got up once and it was raining a tremendous amount.

Thanks for asking!

Glad you made it through okay. :-bd
Wife's family near Springer and Ardmore was fine. The family in Newalla escaped as well. The tornado came within 1/2 mile of their house. No power and water service is down, but no injuries or damage.

Initial reports show the old downtown part of Sulpher took a hard hit. Basically, it came up alongside 177 from the Chickasaw recreational area and hit the east side of the town. Holdenville to the north took a worse hit. There was also a town bordering Texas that also was reported taking a blow. It was a repeating line of storms that just kept cycling on the same path, leading to multiple strikes in the same area.

Another bumpy night, around me was fine just a large thunder storm. Further to the west and north not so much. They got hit hard with a tornado

Yeah, I seen that at lunchtime last night while watching the weather channel. Looks like Barnsdall got slammed.

Yes, Barnsdall got hammered. Last report I saw, was 1 dead and 2 missing. They had dogs looking for the missing. That's a relatively poor area too, I know some of those folks didn't have insurance.

And now it's our time. TN is getting hammered today/tonight. Power went off at work. Spent the time at work, huddled in the tornado room watching Ryan Hall again. Columbia got slammed. At least one death confirmed there. Reports of a tornado in Fayetteville/Lynchburg area. In Murfreesboro, the 9 year old son of an education administrator got swept into a storm drain due to fast moving flood water. He was rescued, but is currently in the hospital in critical, but stable condition. Power was not expected to be restored for a while at work, so we got to go home early. Storms are in a bit of a lull right now locally, so we're relaxing for a bit and waiting out the rest of the watch with different weather sites pulled up.

Rough afternoon and night in TN and northern Alabama for sure. My condolences for those that perished
