OIl pressure sender interchange ?

Post by REDONE »

The part number for my oil sender is PS151, but I already have a PS150, which looks identical except for the terminal. The stock one has a threaded post which the factory harness had a press on fitting for. Mine was pretty much a rubber coated ball of vertigris, and the sender, while working before I started rewiring is pretty nasty too, I'd be impressed if a nut could grab what's left of the threads on the terminal.

Does anybody know if the Chevy PS150 oil pressure sender, which has a simple blade terminal, will interchange? Or does it send a different signal to the gauge? Thanks in advance!

Nevermind! Kept searching and found this at the manufacturers site. Seems nothing interchanges with the stock sender....except a mechanical gauge. Oh, well.

The one in Krista's Phoebe has failed 3 or 4 times in 11 years. I used to get the right one at NAPA or Autozone but the one I changed in 2010 had the threaded stud. After going back and forth looking I decided the one with the blade connector must be unobtanium and made a short adapter wire with a female banana plug on one end and a male blade on the other so I wouldn't have to cut the connector off the wiring harness. Well, that wiring harness is dead and gone with the old body. Go figure.
