Yeah, and not everyone has the factory wireless locks, so if not, you can't just put in a wireless controller system in the console.

Those springs are there to keep the locks from engaging from gravity. I guarantee stretching the springs won't have the same effect as full 12v power nearly sending the linkage through the top of the door.

The best thing to try if not doing relays is to clean the switches and internal switch contacts and see if that helps.
