Brake pads are worn starting to squeek. They were on the wear marker and i bent it back to get more life but they are squeeking again.. Deff need to replace em.
The rear drums are okay. well one side is i never could get the other drum off to look but im sure its fine if its the same as the other side.
What brake pads do you guys recomend ? I was just going to buy the cheapo 25$ ones.. But doing some research those Duralast GT pads are 65$ but the stoping distances between them and normal ceramic pads can be 10-15+ feet.. Since the stopping distance on our Jeeps suck to begin with i was thinking maybe getting the expensive pads to help would be a good idea. 10 feet can mean the difference from smacking into a car or something.
What do you guys think ? Only issue is money of course. Im not loaded right now since work is seasonal and spring isnt here yet.. Ive been relying on ebay and odd jobs and saved money to pay the bills in winter. So i really dont wanna pay near 70$ for pads.. But i figure the saying goes you pay less now and end up paying more in the future. Autozone does habe 20% off online deals so itd be like 55$ but yea

Semi-Metallic pads are better on a performance vehicle that sees repeated hard brakes (say, for corners). The cheapo ones are organic, do not buy these.
Carbon Ceramic offer the same performance as Semi-Metallic under normal driving conditions (ie: not enthusiast canyon carving) with none of the noise. Because its not metal on metal. The Semi-Metallics will pull ahead once there are repeated brake applications.
I would say go with some EBC brake pads, but they are very costly.
well the cheap ones duralast say semi metalic they dont say organic. The cheap ones arent slotted in the middle though or have those chamfered slanted edges both which i guess help with noise. They are just one solid flat pad.
