Fond a set of XJ6 mirrors and switches to swap in place of my non-working ones. Now gotta find the time.

Cruised around in it this weekend. Starbucks for the wife, Barber shop for me, Home depot for some lumber to repair a fence, and later Sonic for some chill. Some guy in a Jelly bean stopped in the parking lot to stare as we were leaving. Guess he wished he were me. 8-)

Did a 200+ mile trip today. Over Monteagle mountain to Cleveland TN and back.

Glad Radio Flyer has a new radiator. the old one would have definitely overheated.
Mountain pulls got 3/4 the way up the green on the coolant gauge (most of the time, she runs on the bottom 1/3 of the green).

Coming back, there was a wreck on 75 and we ended stuck in a standstill for about an hour on the scorching pavement in 95* temps.
Only climbed to between 2/3-3/4 on the gauge. Never got hot or edged the red.

The two humans inside however.....

Proud of the pig nosed wagon.

Fuel economy for yesterday's trip 13.1 on the way there. 13.8 on the way back (odd since the way back had a one hour standstill delay)....

Went to Fall Creek Falls today in it. More stickers for the back glass! :D

While there another guy a few years younger (mid 20's) stopped to gawk and talk Waggy with me.

Pretty interesting that even younger guys recognize these things.

Another mileage update: 14.2 on the last tank with lots of highway 60-65mph driving. Finally have a date with the paint shop to get the body issues addressed. Pulled the "wood" trim in prep of paint and new woodgrain vinyl.

Radio Flyer is now at the body shop getting a nip-tuck and some maybelline applied. Working on the trim bits at home. New grille and some window weatherstrip on its way from BJ's. Excited isn't even the word.

Had the Waggy back for a month now. Grill came in damaged, so I sent it back. Waiting on word on that. In the mean time, I've installed the window felts, changed out the almond door panels for some tan ones that will complete the look I'm going for. Rebuilt those door panels using plastic backer boards and x-mas trees to mount them instead of those stupid clips. Vinyl has arrived from Metro restyling for the woodgrain job.

Pics of progress...

Stripped the trim from the Jeep with a heat gun and plastic putty knife. this side came off without too much fuss. The other side however, came loose with large chunks of paint. :banghead: Poor prep was definitely the culprit.

Since it was going into the paint shop anyways, might as well have them fix it right:

Removed the pin stripe from the side that the paint stayed on. Wet sanded with 400 grit to work out imperfections and smooth the edges.

Took about 2 1/2 hours total. A couple of tiny wrinkles in the driver's fender when that piece fought me to lay without trying to do a weird twist, but I believe the badge will hide them.

Thank you. It turned heads before, but it definitely garners attention now. people love it. My wife loves to take it on outings, I love cruising it. Win-win for all.
Maiden voyage after the woodgrain was a trip to the local fair with wife's sister and our nephew. Fun times!

Headliner board is soaked and drying in the hot sun on the back deck. Pressing the warped areas with some potted plants (hopefully wife won't see) to flatten the backer board out. Gonna take a trip to JoAnn's fabrics soon and see what is available.

I got the same one.
Your Waggy looks good in Garnet. I only see brown or dark red (like mine) around here.

Woohoo! Dash is swapped. What a day. Started at 10am and am cleaning up at 6:00pm. The windshield trim was a PITA. A rubber mallet made easier work of it. Took me about 1 1/2 hours to install it.

Pics to come soon. Getting dark now.
