Just picked up my first FSJ. I've been rock crawling XJ's for the passed 10 years and finally decided to get my dream truck. I'm a bit out of my element with it being completely different than XJ and being a carburetor. So bare with me.
Paid $3500 for it. It has 44's closed 44 knuckles, 455 olds Rocket,turbo400 and a dana20. Frame is in fairly good shape. So I plan on a restore and upgrade and use as a tow rig. Just ordered an electric fan and a brake light switch and hope to have it on the road this weekend.
Thanks, there are some areas that need attention. The inside of the bed has 2 sheets of wood for the bed. I'm toying with the idea to do a floor like this in it.

So I've noticed a slight wobble in my rear driver tire. Swapped out for a new tire and wheel. Still does it. So bent axle shaft maybe? Pulled the axle nut and hub bolts off and the shaft still won't pull out? Any suggestions on these old 44's? Am I missing something?
The hub and drum usually come off together with the assistance of a puller. Once those are off the shaft should slide out with a little persuasion. I slept a big wrench over the shaft, put the nut back on, then hit the wrench with a hammer. It slid out after a few good whacks. The shaft is held in by the bearings.
