And some of us (me) still haven’t gotten off of our butts and done it!

OK, this is the Universal Heavy Duty Slider Boxes that I have listed on my store. The one for the FSJs will be the same with the addition of a side plate to locate the brackets via the two lower transmission crossmember bolts. Ill be putting that together soon. https://rocklaurencevintageautoparts.co ... de-springs

Those look beefy! Can I utilize them with stock leaf springs in shackle reverse? How much more travel does your long spring setup yield?

Yes you can. However, you'd have to manage the mounting because the frame turns up in the area of the OEM bracket. The Slider Box would allow more Droop than a shackle would.

Finally, I was able to get around to installing the new Slider boxes in place of the Proto-types. I'm very happy with them and the FSSR Long Spring suspension provides plenty of room for 35" tires--maybe 37's.

I like those a lot! How much travel do you get from this suspension? When will it be available on your website?

Originally I was getting 12" of travel but even with Tom Woods long travel drive shaft it was binding. So, I shortened the shocks and Slider box to limit it to 10". The best part is that the springs provide the 4"-5" of lift with a longer spring with less arch. This allows for a soft riding suspension. Im in the process of putting the kits together and coordinating with the Spring Manufacture to provide these as a custom part number.

Didnt read the thread but I can attest that rocklaurences setup changes the entire ride quality and works really well. I installed one and will never look back. Definitely improves once you figure out the rest. But I did it on an early Fsj, sure that later models require less, if any "figuring out". Nice setup though and well worth it in my opinion. Rides like a champ. Driveshaft travel will need to be addressed without a doubt. You're either punching a hole in your transfer or it'll pull apart. Luckily mine was the later scenario of the two. Btw rocklauremce thanks for that setup! I love it.

Haha yeah, move went OK, love the new place, most of the stuff is moved out now though. My now ex-wife took most, hopefully the divorce will be over soon. At least I have my house, dogs and my jeeps still. As for the truck, even after your kit I had some issues but I worked out alot of the kinks. Only thing left is lengthen my front driveshaft. If I hit any kind of bump where the suspension drops (now it rotates away from the ttansfer case in that situation) so it pulls my drive shaft apart at the slip joint haha. I'm going to order some shaft tubing and extend it myself. Figure if I keep everything aligned it'll be fine. It doesn't rotate when driving because of the lockout hubs qnd the only time it'll be used is when I'm in lower speeds so I don't even think balance will be an issue. Projects have been on hold though, all my money is going to the attorney right now and soon to alimony and all that crap.
