I am resurecting my 1986 Jeep j-20. I think the original color of the engine must have been Bkack. A friend argues that it should be Blue. I like Blue but I want it as original. Can you guys straighten mr out on this?
Thanks
John Baker
Yeah, by '86 they were black. Anyone know when they went from blue to black? My '82 has a blue 258 in it, but I was told it was not the original engine.
The 360 in my '81 J20 was blue and I know it was stock.
...so it must have been sometime after that that went to a black.
I am guessing that AMC must have ran out of the AMC Blue paint at some point and decided that Black was cheaper (custom color verses a stock color)
