There are no trail pics here... well there are some of the Pony Express Trail but no Jeeping pics ... well OK there are alot of Jeeps in these pics and most are all on one lot.. ........
and now on with Rudy's Big Adventure!!!
To get to Ouray you have to leave KY and then drive through 800 miles of corn fields.Starting here...
Makes you want to do this.......
The best scenery of the plains....
Went across Monarch Pass about 10 pm just after storm clouds gave way to a bright Moon lit sky... You had to be there to get this pics true feeling..
I told you...
Eventually I rolled in at 1:30 am Monday 8 hours behind schedule.. not bad for leaving 22 hours late..
Cabin came complete with a babbling brook which makes you want to pee all the time....
KOA's got you covered for more than just a sleeping area.....

Spent the next few days going to different points from Pueblo up into north eastern CO...
The parked amusement park rides...
I started to stop and see if I could buy a pink flying pig.. (That's a Cincinnati thing)...
Some strange little town ....
If I didn't have my camper top on and all that gear in the back.....
Nice old rail road depot. Now a museum...
Needs alot of TLC but it does have a 327 in it...

We then went to NE for a cruise along the North Platte...Rudy found it boring....
Going to some Pony Express stuff I run across this...
Go ahead stick your head up in the fire box...
No, seriously stick your head up in there.....
Not what I expected either although I don't know what I was really expecting...
It was in sad need of repair but luckily someone was showing enough love of it to keep it on display. It looked as they were trying to at least freeze it in time as is... No one around to talk to about it.
Its modern day replacements delivering a long string of coal cars...

Always enjoy your road trips... why are mine never like yours? I need my copilot to get back with me again, road trips now include the infamous phrase "are we there yet" and "mom". Not cool when you are only two hours into a two day trip.
Hoot if Rudy gets too bored with you he can roll with me next time
he is not like my giant lap hound.

I like to enjoy the scenery on my road trips when I can... Usually the drive out is exhausting. Lots of things went wrong the last 3 weeks before the trip. The trip back I had the whole week to get back.
He'd leave me in a heartbeat, that's why I wanted to put him in the raffle.He's a big baby.. Especially if you make that chicken he loved so much.. As we rolled into Montrose his look on his face was hilarious... If looks could kill..........I guess 16 hours of driving that second day was just too much... On the way back the driving was far less and we stayed in a motel every night as illustrated here;

I had a blast seeing all you guys and gals again. The big crowd around the fire never happened this year.. Or did you guys get together after I left for the night.
Maybe next year we can have our own pancake breakfast. I had a griddle with me this year but I only cooked for Emily and Kaitlin. Rudy and I had pancakes a couple of mornings. I think next year I'll have me one of those small propane camp stove/oven as well. Big ole batch of biscuits and gravy would be nice.
