Mid winter lumber purchase (while lumber prices are down) for later projects
Approximately 1400# of lumber on the trailer. Trailer probably weighs around 600-700 lbs
You could definitely feel it back there. I had my case in full time just in case the weight wanted to be unruly and try to push too much.
Would it have been effective? Don't know as I slowed early for curves and kept it under 40mph while staying on back roads.
Gave me a solid indication of what I want to feel confident when towing in the future with a teardrop/squaredrop/egg camper.
Besides the obvious observation of fresh springs, I definitely want 3.31 ratio and I believe the ride will feel more solid with air bag helpers. Probably will also look into a light duty weight distribution hitch as well.... Trailer brakes will be a must for highway speeds as stock brakes are inadequate to slow something that wants to "push" especially in cornering.
Trailer brakes are also convenient should the trailer get slammed by a cross wind and want to sway. I can just activate the brakes on the trailer itself and bring it back under control.
Did well otherwise, even with the 2.72s. I still don't see this thing being able to tow 3500# safely (what it's rated at), especially now when every 4 cylinder is a 14 second quarter mile ride.
