Carb Question

Post by wagoneer1982 »

I have a 1982 Wagoneer with a 360, the carb needs rebuilt. I'm pretty sure its the stock Motocraft carb, but where can i look on the carb to get the model number so i get the correct kit?

If the tag is still there, it should be front-and-center right there under the bowl cover screw

If your '82 360 is all original, you should have a 2150. Is there a vacuum fitting on the power valve cover at the bottom?

A V8 360 only came with the Motorcraft 2150 in 1982.

If the carb has been rebuilt before, the rebuilder would have removed the tag. The tag is often lost on old carbs.

You can look in the '81-86 parts manual here http://oljeep.com/edge_parts_man.html and it will tell you which tag number you should have.

Your local independent auto parts store.

We have only one big one left. They sell lots of LED light kits and low-end audio equipment -- but apparently not carb rebuild kits. Sadly I had to go to Autozone for mine when I tore a bowl cover gasket. PN 96-437A
