well according to the pa inspection sticker, the thing was on the road in 2000! The dude said he cleaned the points a changed the trans/motor oil. Shifts great, steers great. Purrs like a kitten, and fires up in half a crank COLD! Gotta love single barrel carbs. Uploading pics now.

Nice, looks pretty much unmolested.
Yours appears to have all the skirts and trim, that can be hard to find.

The bed is pretty bad, but everything else can be fixed. One rust hole in the frame, but its solid. Need to replace door sills and cab floors, but trans hump and seat base are nice!

But to get it on the road, really just needs brakes and tires. And this would just be around town driving to feel it out.

Should I just order this? Its pricey, but brakes are important. anyone know a better source? Will probably start pulling stuff apart and confirm its trashed before I order parts.

Oh and I also need a new tank, This one looks nice, and its made in USA. http://www.kaiserwillys.com/product/948 ... ccessories

According to their site, these are the correct size tire. I know it is a 16" wheel. Just think these would look killer!
http://www.cokertire.com/650-16-sta-sup ... n-6pr.html

Funny, the tires on there now are Gulf brand with the same symbol as the oil company! Pretty cool, but they are trash.

This is what I will probably do with the bed, I want it the exact size as the stock one, and more of a stake side look. I will incorporate the tire carrier and hopefully a replacement tailgate.

All the trim should polish up decent. I NEED to ditch the hood trim though, it says "Ford F5" HAHA! Might spring for these:

Check with Morris ( not sure if he still actually runs the place) also when looking for items.
It's been over 10 years but I had really good results dealing with them on hard to find parts.

What about using the body from an M416 trailer for the bed. I think it'd be a pretty close match.

Morris died a while back. Last I heard his daughter was running the business - but haven't heard anything in a year or so.

The holes in the '4' on those shouldn't be there - supposed to have pins on the back that fit through holes in the hood and fastened on the inside. I'd hold out for a better set if it was me.

Now you're talking - those look great. They're stainless steel so they should polish out quite well.

Sorry to hear that, I hope his daughter can carry on.
I remember the first parts listing he mailed to me way back when. Hand typed and photo copied.

These are those tires installed on a 3b. Supposedly you can not get 700-16 tires anymore, atleast not made in the USA.

Does anyone have a part number for the brake pads? Are the pads the same in every drum? I ordered a catalogue/ parts manual/ restoration guide from Willys America for 20 bucks. There are a suprising number of Willys parts houses, hard to choose which one to use. Some have big differences in prices. And some have very little info. I dont want to spend big bucks on, for example, brake drums and they turn out to be chinese junk. If I want the generic stuff ill just go to napa.

This I like!! "WILLYS AMERICA strives to provide the highest quality of American made products whenever possible regardless of cost. BE AMERICAN....BUY AMERICAN....SUPPORT UNION MADE!"

You're not supposed to be able to get Goodyear Polyglass tires either, but I've seen new ones on a late 60s Firebird. Shop around, you'll probably find a set if you want em.

These are not 7.00x16, but a couple of tread designs are available in 7.50x16.

Yeah Cooker is an STA dealer. These are those tires:
http://www.cokertire.com/sta-super-traction-750-16.html

they are 32's. The willys has old 6.50-16 tires on it now, and it looks ok. Also the 7.50's are $100 more each...

The problem with the online dealers is they charge double for maintenance parts. Like $20 for a rad cap and a V belt. Im sure alot of people just order it up because they make it easy, but I cant afford to spend all that.
