Sounds like a cool build. SJTD, do you have an sd33? What sort of mileage are you getting? Putting a turbo'd nissan ld28 in my j20.

pics of the axles?
80 series axles are very, very strong. The rear will be a full float, but offset to the passenger side. Some of them came with factory electric lockers (which IMHO is why Toyota had true 4x4 years before Jeep did).

Is it slow to wind out or wind out and have to be shifted quickly?

I wish I knew. Haven't got it on the road yet. Drive train is finished but the body is gutted and stripped for paint.
It's a 33T used in the '80 IH Scout. Supposed to be about 100 Hp around 160 ft-lb if I remember correctly.

HP is around 125-130 and tq is around 175-185 or so. So a smogged down 258 is about the same.

ok been doing some measuring rear springs are to wide
so there is a change of plans I am going to put hilux rear springs under the frame in the rear and coilovers in the an a three link in the front
the lift doesn't work in the dirt I move the jeep its easier
the jeep is at a bit of a stand still at the moment I moved 5 hours away from it an don't have the space for it just yet
but has anyone done coilovers in the of a full size and any pic wont be nice
