Welcome to the forum! :-bd

My best guess from the pictures is it is an 82 or 83 Cherokee. That is the only two years that the Cherokee had the GW style tail lights and it looks like a Cherokee badge on the tailgate above the license plate. I could be wrong and it is a 84-88 Wagoneer (as opposed to GW). Or sheesh, something else entirely. Good luck on the build!

So the wheels on it are 38in super swampers on almost new wagon wheels. Couldn't pass them up. Hope to get back out in shop this week

Is the front diff driver's side drop? If so, the frame will have the VIN stamped behind the steering box and other places

As they say around here, "I ain't tellin' ya what ya should be doin'"

But I will make sure you know that moving the VIN from one vehicle to another is a federal offense, one that maybe you don't want to advertize on an internet forum. ;)
