Rear axle is out. Springs and shackles are out. Going to try and press out the spring bushings tonight when I get home from work.

The rear Shackle flip is done with the exception of the rear spring mount brackets. Going to wait until we have the front done to finalize there position (per Tads Well documented instructions). :D

I have a good friend here that also has that "Green fetish". He grew up in the town John Deeres are made and both of his parents worked there.

Got the front axle out and back under the truck yesterday. While it was out, the springs and shackles got all new bushings and paint. The axle got new perches welded on for the SOA. All in all, a good afternoons work. Made some decent progress. Pepe is back on his feet. Just need to get U-Bolts and brake lines. Next up...full high steer conversion.

I think green vehicles are unnatural and should be banned from the road!

Found them in a parts sale add on thesamba.com. They are 70's vintage. They had been run MANY miles in the desert in Az. The guy my son bought them from straightened them out and had them all stripped down to bare metal. Paid $200 delivered for the set of 4.

Late 68. Ball joint front IFS rear. Now has a 002 bus transaxle. It Desperately needs some 3x3 trailing arms and 33" rear rubber. Top speed right now is 65 flat out. lol

I had a 65 myself. Other than a 1600 dual port it was stock.

Most of the "age" clues have been removed with the baja package and all.

Ok, what is everyone using for the extended front brake lines? To clarify, if I go to the parts store, what vehicle do I need to tell them I need the front brake lines for? Oh, and I should mention, I am looking for stock type replacements, not braided lines.

Looking at pictures of that brake line, it appears as though the end that joins up to the hard line is different than the stock part. Is that end threaded to accept a union to mate it to the factory hard line?

The end that has the c-clip looking thing on it goes through a bracket on your frame and is held in place by a big nut on the back. The factory hardline simply screws into it.

Careful! There are 2 different sized caliper banjo bolts! Find out what yours are first or you will have a leak/danger or no fit situation on your hands!

I used '77 Blazer hoses on my '84 J10.
