I would check with the seller about those arms and see if they are for 1 ton chevy. The part numbers you want for the TRE's are ES2010L and ES2010R. The L is for Left and the R is for right. Just standard 1 ton ends.

The seller also sells the 1ton tre. I am sorta confused on the steering linkage. Do i HAVE to make my own Steering linkage, or can I temporarily use the factory linkage? Hence my question about the factory tie rod ends and whether they are GM taper.

I used a Ford draglink (the crossover rod needs to be longer than FSJ)

I made the steering on my jeeps.

You need 4 things:

es2010 L and R tie rod ends
several feet of DOM 1.5" OD 1" ID
7/8" jam nuts
7/8" weld in bungs

That will net you some cheap, reliable and indestructible steering.

Plans are to use stock springs on the SOA then go full high steer. Will I need spacers under the high steer arms?

I didn't on any of my FSJ's, but YMMV.

Depends on several things.
Perch Height
Arm Type
Spring Pack Thickness

First one I did was with older (63-73) stock springs with an AAL.
Those older springs were thinner and used more springs, combined with the AAL I needed a 3/16" spacer for the jam nut to clear the pack on the passenger side. At only 3/16" I was able to use factory studs and didn't bother adding a shim to the driver side.
When I switched to newer spring packs I didn't need the shim, thicker springs but less in the pack.
Both those setups used the PartsMike super arms which are taller than most.
When I went D60 up front I had a lot more clearance.

I may have missed it, what arms are you using?
Are they just flat?

10-4, I see now.

I've never really liked the idea of the spacers but many folks have run them and quite successfully.
OTT and several other folks make taller arms that eliminate the need for spacers.
A bit more price wise I am sure.

I know you are ordering and maybe you will not need the spacer(s).

"Call for Pricing" annoys me. Why can't they just put it on the page? Arbitrary price setting. Call them on a bad day and have to pay more?

It typically means their prices fluctuates with material prices. Labor and overhead is a set cost. I have done web work for companies like this. They are normally smaller and don't have time to always update the site, and do not have the size or cache to charge a higher flat rate for the part.

I would call the guy and ask for a set like this but in 1 inch instead of 3/4 inch and ask for the 10 degree steering correction and GM taper.

OK, knuckles are off for machining. $480 for machining both knuckles, 1" High Steer arms, all new ball joints and 4 new 1 ton GM Tie Rod Ends. Now my attention turns to brakes. Does anyone have P/N for the extended brake lines I will need?

Not off hand. I got mine from BJ's about 5 years ago, have worked great thus far. As I recall GM brake lines work, but I am not sure on year/model.

Well....I officially have OCD over this conversion. :D I have been doing some searching and from what I can tell, most folks who run SOA with full High Steer have 1" spacers installed. Do I have to run them? I will need make up my mind fairly quickly as I need to let the person doing the machining know what he will need to ship back with the knuckles. HELP!!!!!! ~x(

All depends on the spring pack thickness and the arms used (How tall they are).

Well, the lift install started last night. Got the rear axle ready to come out. just need to disconnect the lines and connections on the sending unit and the tank can come out. Need to get a new fuel tank skid, the one on the truck is toast. Have a line on one that just needs a little patching here locally off of an 83. Once the tank is out, we can finish dropping the rear axle and springs and start the install of the new spring mounts. Got the knuckles back from machining Sat. They look good. The tube and weld in inserts for the new steering linkage showed up last night from East Coast Gear Supply, so we should be set there. All that's left are the countless incidentals that we will surely run in to.
