which transmissoin do i have?

I know there's codes on the side I could use, but I don't feel like crawling under the truck. I have a 76 j10 with a 258 and a 3 speed manual transmission. Could it be a T-150? Thanks

Most likely a T150. Could be a T15, but the T15 was typically used behind V8's.

FSJs never got the T-150. Only CJs got the T-150.

If it's not a T-15, then it's a T-14. But the last year that a FSJ got a T-14 (six cylinder only) was 1975.

So unless it was changed or not a 1976, it's a Borg-Warner T-15. 13-07 or T-15 will be cast into the side of the case.
