how to pull a steering wheel

I'm 99% sure I can do it, I just don't ant to get into it and break something cause I was doing it wrong. Anyone care to school me real quick? Ive got the 2 spoke steering wheel by the way

You need a steering wheel puller.

Pop the horn cover off, you will sometimes need to remove a small plate. Under that is a large nut, pull that off. Then you will see two small holes on each side. The puller will go into that.

that plate can be a B!^(# to put back on so if you only have to remove the wheel and not get into the column you have nothing to worry about. Replace the locking plate too if not, then everything below it goes crunch crunch.

And don't forget to put witness marks on the steering wheel and the steering column shaft, so you make sure you get it back into the proper position... :fsj:

Witness marks to align the shaft and the wheel are key. Don't skip that step. I took pictures. So I could put it back together again.

That lock ring around the steering shaft is no joke. Go slow and remember to breathe.
