OEM Style bench seat cover
Does anybody make OEM style seat covers for a 1972 J4700 ? I see all kinds for the vintage Chevy and Fords but not much for the J-Series,Thanks.Mark

Welcome to the asylum.
When I checked the LMC catalog, there are some differences in the various Chevy bench. At this point unless someone has a good reputable place, it seems to be cu$tom work or modifying something...
Some time ago I picked up the whole leather back bench upholstery leather from some fancy cars that end up in the local junkyard... you could probably do the same on the chevys or fords ... paid for a seat cover at $8... but our benches are really a tad oversize... I am missing a couple of inches, i might add a layer in the bottom unseen area... during next storm I'll crank up the sewing machine....

Have you asked at a local upholstery shop? A bench seat cover is pretty simple - they might be able to make something for a reasonable cost. Back in the day, LA area hot rodders would go to Tijuana for upholstery - there were shops set up just over the border to catch this trade. Where are you located? You could ask the local hot rod clubs for recs.
Also, trucks have gotten bigger with the years. Possible a cover for an earlier truck will fit, or maybe a Dakota/Tundra/Frontier sized truck could provide. As Michel suggests, used upholstery from the Pick-and-pull may be cheap enough to experiment with, or at least provide sizing info.

You can check here for pricing or availability for a universal cover. I bought the saddle blanket type for my '84 GW front buckets & rear bench. About $45 each when purchased last year, and rear bench should easily fit your rig.

Yeah, I've had the saddle blanket cover on my J10 for many years. The ones I have are made of a very coarse polyester (?) yarn - not the most comfortable if you drive shirtless or in shorts, but very durable. Works ok.
The set I have came in a box from the auto parts store. About the least custom possible. Just a big folded blanket with sewn-in draw tabs and a bunch of nylon cord to cinch it down with. I removed the seat to get the cover to fit right.

Ruff N Tuff has a pattern for a 77 Wagoneer bench seat.They did one for me
