Long story short, bought this rust free GW from Vernon, TX around 4 years ago. Went into the hospital the day it arrived, and have been down every since, not really been able to do anything on it. Finally, this spring, about a year after my last surgery, I felt good enough to start working on it. It's name is Vern and it's going to be nice when I'm done.
New carpet
New Seat Covers with carpet to match the floors and panels, and new cord inserts. Also heated seats.
New steering wheel cover
New center console with power ports and controls for the heated seats
Thanks.
It depends on the condition of the woodgrain. I've had them where I can use a heat gun and peel it from the whole Jeep, then I've had them where I have to use the eraser wheel on the whole thing. If I do the whole thing with an eraser wheel, I plan on a whole weekend and about 10 eraser wheels.

Very nice, MedinaJim; like the contrast of white with the Woodgrain.
question: on average, how long does it take to remove the Woodgrain with the eraser wheel? Am looking at stripping ours shortly.

Thanks; am hoping for the former; will post up the experience & results on my Build thread.
If it's badly cracked and sunbaked, you'll prob end up using the wheels. The last on I got from AZ was that way and couldn't use the heat gun and peel. Was taking forever that way, a tiny piece at a time. Good luck.

I have to ask, how did you get the cord inserts in the Katskin kit, ive been looking at new carpet and new leather for mine and yours is the exact look I want, especially with the carpet backing on the seats as well.
I've had that cord material for years, and can't remember where I got it. As far as I know, Katskin doesn't offer the cord material, but BJ's and SMS does. The carpet is from Home Depot.
