Best tires for truck now with 3" lift

Post by 1978J10REDWHITE »

Added a RC 3" lift and thinking about to taller meats on the Stock 15" rims.
The tires read 31 x 10.50 x 15LT.
Measured should take a 34's without rubbing.
Do not want after market rims unless They are almost give aways.
So I'm looking for suggestions tires sizes, and brand names etc.
34"s Dia seem to be unpopular and scarce.
And I am not familiar what brands are good quality rubber either.
Rig Sits around mostly so not to concerned about road noise at all.
thx

I ran 34's on my J-10 with a 6" lift and it resulted in the rear fenders cutting the tires at full flex. So if you want 34's, you will need to drop the bump stops down to prevent that.

The next set of tires I ran was 33's, and they were perfect.

What gears do you currently have? I assume 3.54's being you have a 78. So do note you are going to lose some power because of the gearing. I ultimately switch to 4.56 gears (Stock was 2.73), and it was perfect for my uses, though not great on the HWY. 4.10's are better for the HWY.

My Cherokee actually had 3.54's, but it was also a T18a. So the super low 1st gear still made it fine to drive.
