Intake Manifold Underside Baffle

Post by Kowpie »

Hello
Does anyone have a baffle that attaches to the bottom of the intake manifold on the AMC-Jeep V-8"s? I just pulled an aftermarket intake from my 304 to replace gaskets and it is missing. I have been wondering why I'm getting oil sucked in through the PCV valve??? Here is a picture for reference.

Hopefully somebody has one. I am not aware of any aftermarket solutions for it. And it most certainly would cause you to get oil through the PCV.

If you have a non-EGR intake, you can get away with just the rear section. Which I have seen people hand make out of sheet metal. But this shield is really important if you have a functioning EGR, as the oil will cook on the bottom of the intake over time.

Also, do note that there are two styles of that baffle. A non-EGR baffle will not work on an intake with EGR. The photo you posted is an EGR style.

Thanks for the info Stuka. My intake is the EGR style. As you stated, if I cannot find one I'll probably fab something up.

Found the part. Adam from Jeep Recyclers had it. Great folks to deal with.
