I have the factory wide track 15" wheels on my 78 Chief. I'm thinking about going to an aftermarket 15 x 8 steel rim, Black with slots, with the proper backspacing, offset and center hole to clear that front hub.
Anybody have pictures of doing this on their FSJ?
Wheel recommendations would be great too.
Post up some pics if you got em.
You could also do a wagon wheel style wheel. There are quite a few different options for 15x8 6x5.5 black steel wheels out there, you just gotta pick what you want.

Right j10guy, I know that. What I'm looking for is members who already know what company makes a 15 x 8" with the right backspacing for our vehicles.
6 lug is on all '74+ FSJs, when they swapped out the front end in favor of the open knuckle D44. On the '74-76s, you can use the stock spindles and Ford hubs to swap back to 5x5.5. In '80 they swapped the front to driver's drop, and I THINK it was '80 that they put the AMC 20 rear end in. At some point in the mid-late '80s they switched back to the D44 rear.
I'm assuming you know about the Kaiser-era rigs,5x5.5, D44 rear end (usually), D27/D30/D44 closed knuckle front end, never available with disc brakes.
I don't have a problem with the made in China stuff--my issue is when things don't line up/don't hold up to the quality of the originals.
My dad bought the cheapest rotors and one hub that he could for his truck, and because it has the lug nuts with the flange that goes inside the wheel, they don't line up quite right, making it incredibly tight.
