Looking for Texans...

Post by HowardT64 »

Anyone in "easternish" part of Texas up for a Jeep meet?

I was thinking we could meet like at a state park, have a little
cookout, take pics, show off the rigs...etc. Anyone interested?

How about a non-resident "easternish" Texan?

As an ex-Texan, I might be able to make it if you meet in El Paso. ;)

I'd meet you guys, but my Jeep is in parts in Brenham. The re-build is slow going due to family and work, but it's moving. I'm not sure Chicago to Athens is any further than El Paso to New Braunfels!

I will check my map, see if I can coordinate something. I
would like it to be somewhere we can be outdoors and
in nature ( Jeeps LOVE nature ) and maybe cookout...who knows:)

The 'Topless Jeep Weekend' is coming up...I know they all get together and go down to East End of Galveston for a big group picture, and most go across the bolivar/Galveston ferry and end up on Crystal Beach and High Island for a big meet. They are mostly Wranglers, but they enjoy the XJs and other Jeeps so they probably wouldn't mind us either.

Anyone game?

I lived around Cedar Creek lake for several years. I'd call that pretty much where East Tx starts coming from the West. I was mainly in Mabank/Gun Barrel City for most of the time I lived by the lake. Prior to that I lived in the Metroplex.

I live in Athens which is east of Dallas...Perhaps we could
find a halfway point between here and Houston? Perhaps...

I'd love to do something like this. Maybe if we made it an annual thing we could get some really good turn outs.

Unfortunately do to my truck still in pieces and the 70-90 hour weeks I have been working, I will not be able to attend this go round.

I live in New Orleans, but I'm from Sanger (near Denton) origionally. I'd love to do a get together with other people who speak my language. Next year is better cuz I don't think the "Belle" will make it that far under its own power. But by this time next year.....maybe....

Okay that is fine :) I am hoping to get like a group pass or something to a state
park where we can BBQ, show off our rigs, etc etc...take lots of pics:) Work on
your rigs, get them ready and lets shoot for next year! In the meantime I will
try and see if a smaller meet can take place...
