Thank you. I hear there is a "flat" clear you can use, probably better than making it shiny.
There are matte clear coats. They are higher maintenance. But a gloss, or even satin makes the colors have a deeper tone. They will look more muted with the matte clear.
I use linseed oil on patina that is past the primer. If it isn't through the primer, clean and clay it to remove oxidation and ceramic coat it. both work very well to preserve what is there.
The bus I ride is so short it is a yellow Smart Car full of squirrels, monkeys and clowns.
What would be best for the typical late model clear coat delamination?

Guys, my apologies... I have learned that the Chief designation is a trim package. After looking into the details, this unit is NOT a Chief. OEM it had rubber floor mats etc. Likely base trim level. I did not intend to mislead, I am just not a FSJ guy and presumed that all Cherokee's are referred to as a "Chief". No idea how to modify the thread title. My bad.
As promised earlier. Here are some pics of the OEM hub caps. They cleaned up pretty well but would look even better if they were polished. I have all four of them. I will mount them as soon as the tires are due for rotation.

Regardless, the vehicle is no longer for sale here for the price earlier listed. The upholstery turned out great. Check the build thread out to see how it looks. I will update it soon.
Look for the vehicle to be auctioned at Bring a Trailer dot com soon!
JuniorFab, I'm interested in your Jeep. Could you direct me to the listing or if you want to discuss possible deal? I'm relatively new to the board, so I haven't put in my time yet to open up the private chat. Working on a '77 Chief with my son now, and kinda wanting to get my own rig as well. So looking to purchase something solid. Thanks.
