I just wanted to post what I have been doing on my waggy in regards to offroad capability. I came across these LED lights and wanted to try them before I jump on the high priced alternatives.
I also have modified my stock bumper and frame in order to be recovered the next time I become imobilized ( I have a feeling it will happen again). I installed tow hooks... both options I think cost less than or around $100.

Here is what I did, just the three hole hook using the rear most two with a piece of scrap (about 1/8"). Drilled two holes in the plates and the frame horn. Cut the two holes in the bumper (1 1/2" sq) where the bumperetts were. Then I used the holes from the bumperett mount, to mount the lights. I think the bolts are 3/8 x 2 1/4. I hope this helps.
I do have a hook for the rear so I can help out where needed but these are strictly for my benefit. I would hate to leave it in the badlands around here for any amount of time.
I'm not sure it would hold if you were REALLY stuck (like in deep mud or snow) and I backed the Honcho up and gave it a big yank I think it would hold under most circumstances though...
I hope not to find that much snow or mud out here if I do then I deserve to be pulled out from the rear... I was going to weld the plate in for that reason but weeing that I plan on doing some custom bumpers in the future. Then I plan on doing something like boxing the front and making it strong enough to pull my truck .
Thanks Matt I hope to make it ready to roll in Ouray this time around.

You and me both brother, I don't have a tow rig if I break so gotta be stout and well equipped with spares. Since we're both flying solo we shouldn't have excuses for not trying every run!

Just an update on these lights.... for the price they are pretty darn AWESOME . They are wired into the stock fog light harness and they work as expected and they are bright. Now to find the same size with focussed beams for a future upgrade.
Here is where I bought them, seeing the quality of the construction along with the end result, I am sold on these. I do know there are better ones out there but this price is nice.
27 watt lights, wow. I got tired of burning out relays with my 100 watt lamps and just pulled them off, lol... Thanks for the link. That would make a good back up lamp too. I hope I never see those hooks tied to another rig.
I hope not too Flint. It has been doing pretty good since I put in a new starter, the lights are good enough for me. I plan on using something similar on other areas and one is also as backups too. I think there are 2" also available.
