Transmission modulato

I have 1979 wagoneer with that elbow attachment to the transmission modulator..I picked up new modulator the parts store tells me,but it wont fit. Im trying to do away with the elbow attachment.. Does anyone know part number to correct modulator?? I have Th400 trans..
