The Sierra Nevada Full Size Jeep Club is having a weekend adventure near Nevada City, CA on July 19-21! Camping will be at the Gene's Pineair Campground in Washington, CA, just off of Hwy 20. Friday evening set up camp, and enjoy a round of horseshoes and camp fun. Saturday an easy trail run over Forest Road 36 to Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park. This was the site of the largest Hydraulic Mining operation in the world during the 1880s and includes miles of hiking trails, scenic picnic area by a lake, a preserved historic village, and tons of mining equipment to check out. After a fun day or part there of exploring the park, back down the forest road to camp by the Yuba River for fishing or just relaxing by the water. Head for home Sunday morning. Camp can accommodate up to 28' RVs or trailers, some sites have hookups. Price varies by size and amenities for each site starting at $24. Lots of shade, toilets, water, general store, Horshoe Pit, walking trails.
