Lifted Cherokee Custom Y-Pipe?

I have finally gotten around to the exhaust on my 76 Cherokee. Because of the lift (4" Rusty's) , the front driveshaft interfered with the Y-pipe and prevented it's installation.

In order to be able to run it, I need to go custom.

Show me what you've done to remedy this situation.

Thanks in advance!

I don't have a photo handy (they are someplace) but I went to a local exhaust shop, and had them move the cross over from the driver side farther back, so that it was about 2" behind the original one. This let me run a 6" lift and the drive shaft never hit.

That is the way I have read to do it. I don't have an interference issue on my 78 but it is close. I have seen some recommend when you do a new custom Y-pipe, to have the shop put in a disconnect just after it, so you can remove the whole Y pipe itself for easier access to tranny/oil pan etc. Mine is original and completely one piece back to the muffler.
