They need to be aired out and vacuumed anyways. They have been out of the box for about 6 months. The box was falling apart. I am curious to compare it to the new black.
IT's really nice to have her home to work on. It's been 1.5 years since she's sat in the back yard like the last photo. It felt really good to have her there and to get to work on her with Flint. I'm stoked about the carpet. Bob. Yes. You WERE RIGHT!! We would have hated the dyed carpet. I think I'll be on the lookout for full vinyl door panels now. The panels in her have the cut pile carpet on the bottom. I'm sure nobody will notice, but I think it might look tighter if the rug and the curtains didn't clash.

This new black carpet is actually higher quality than the green we were going to dye. Maybe it is the addition of the backing.
Krista got the back deck insulated yesterday and we started trimming in the carpet for left wheel well and could not stand the gnats any longer.
I am still working on rust prevention on the front floor too. It's getting there. I said inhibitor, but the clear spray is rust convertor. It turns the metal dark grey/black after a few hours. Then lay the white inhibitor down. Both by Krylon.
I am really pleased with this foil insulation. It's easy to cut and piece together, it's flexible and it lays down beautifully! I can't wait to take it for a test drive and see how well it dampens sound! I would loved to have gotten a layer of this under the head liner, but I figure my rock solid roof rack will help stabilize and silence the roof!

It's a foil bubble wrap water heater insulation. It comes in rolls and we found it at our local hardware store. $2.49 a foot. We got 18 feet by 4 feet and looks like we'll have plenty left over. BUt I have been frugal with it and have patched together larger pieces from smaller trimmed pieces.
I was looking for fishing equipment I plan to send to Florida where I should have left it. Only found 2 spinning reels. Then stumbled on boxes of FSJ parts that must have made a quantum leap from another time and place or something. I believe Bob has had this experience in recent months himself. I knew we had 2 decent 75 Wag tail lights here. Found those pretty quick but next I find a box of 81 Ltd stuff I thought we had sold or traded off. So now there is 4 decent tail lights and a 5th that is pitted. Then another box had 3 backup lights and 4 lens. Looks like P2 will get her back end spiffed up a bit out of this mess.
Brandon - I thought we had too much stuff but we keep finding stuff to use on P2 so the hoarding is paying off, sorta. B-)
The Gnats with tiger shark teeth have finally been mostly cooked out so we are back to P2 carpet work. Well, Krista really. While she was insulating the floor in P2, I cleaned up some rust behind both rear wheel wells and coated with rust converter. Will make a couple fiberglass repairs there today. Then pulled the pitted and dull 78 tail light assemblies, polished a nice set from a 75 and put them on with a set of good 81 gaskets. Big shiny difference! No pix of the lights yet. P2 is looking like a farm truck between the dust, dirt and ashes floating in the air the last week.
