My problem is that the hinge area had some bad rust repair. I spent a couple nights and created my own panel with new hinge brackets from scratch. I kinda of impressed myself.
Then I was bumped out when I went to re-attached the tailgate and I run into a problem. One side of the tailgate is 1/4 too high when I max out my adjustments and I have too much gap in between the center of the tailgate.
Luckily I was able to acquire a parts truck in the fall with a good panel. Now come the summer, I need to cut out the old and replace it again. Thinking about making a cage that fits inside the rear opening before cutting it off the parts truck.
Anyone else have any good ideas?
