Need a Sway Bar Measurement

Post by Nutz-n-Bolts »

My J10 was a plow truck from the factory. I removed the plow and it's frame but it appears that since the sway bar was mounted on the plow frame, no holes were ever put in the frame beneath to mount the bar. :(

:?: Can someone tell me how far back the first bolt is from the back of the front spring perch? I need to start drilling.

The center of the front bolt on the sway bar mount is 8 3/4" behind the back of the front spring perch.

Thanks AGIAN for helping me out stuka!

I really wanted to get these drilled and tapped while I have the front axle out for the Lift kit install. Now I can hit the ground running tomorrow morning. :D

I find it very efficient of AMC to not waste time drilling and tapping holes for the sway bar in the frames of trucks they knew would have the plow frame installed. Too bad that efficiency didn't save them. :|
