I'm hoping! The wife is back to work, so things should progress smoother. I was going to call/text you about that one thing( ;) ), but it will have to wait until at least the weekend of the 17th.

Yes extra income is always nice. I am in no hurry. She is getting lonely though.

Heads have been off the engine for almost a week and I've finally got them and the valve covers cleaned up.

Not sure which goal you're referring to, but I don't think I did. Been busy with Scouts 2 nights a week plus the wife has a new job that has her working several evening shifts so I've been playing mr. mom. Hopefully I've got the Tiger den sorted out so I can step back from that and get at least one night of my week back. Haven't pulled the engine short block down yet or got the rear springs mounted to the frame. Also, the door of the garage where Oz is staying broke and takes 2 people to open and I'm only 1.

Don't think the 56" chevy springs are going to work. Too much arch and too thick. Going to see what happens with some 63" springs. Might end up using some coil-over shocks as overloads. We'll see.

The 'ratty looking 5.3' is now a pile of parts.

It all looks good, so I'm going to put new main and rod bearings in it, put new rings in it after a light honing, paint the block up all pretty(still undecided on color) and put it all together.

Have most of the parts, but still need a few little things. Been busy with scouts and deer season is in 2 weeks. I hope the non-pink engine is together before Christmas.

Well, the block is painted, but it's not pink.

Ready for paint:

Haven't really. Busy time of year and lack of funds due to the holidays. Still need to pick up some rings so I can get the engine back together, have a line on another transmission that will actually work with the LS engine, have a line on some different rear springs, dug a pair of 24.5" extended length shocks out of the parts dumpster at work(throwing away good parts because they didn't sell.....). I also need to change the starter on my f150 and the lincoln now has an exhaust leak.

Hopefully some small semblance of progress will occur within the next week or so. More to follow.

Starting piecing the engine back together last night. Got the crank, cam, and 4 pistons in. I'm slow.

Got the oil pump, pickup, front cover, rear cover, and oil pan, but that stuff isn't very exciting.
