New member from Southern California

Post by quikdime »

Hello everyone. I am very interested in doing a 5.3 LS motor swap. I have the opportunity to get an 87 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a really good deal. I would like t attempt the swap myself. However, I dont weld or fabricate. I'm more of a bolt-on guy. Can this swap be accomplished without being a welder or fabricator? Would like to do the swap on the cheap. What should I expect dollar wise to make this happen? This will be a father and son project. Which motors and trans combos are best? What transaxle is the best and easiest to convert? Your imput is appreciated.

Welcome!

That would be a Grand Wagoneer BTW ;)

There are lots of post in the Fuel Injection section on 5.3L swaps. I would start by going through there. Also several post in the build threads section that go over what parts are required and their costs.
