Marchal mounts with 3-piece front bumper?

Post by bigwalton »

I got what I thought was the correct foglight mount for over the vertical nerf jobbers on my 3-piece front bumper (77 Cherokee), but there doesn't seem to be any bolt/hole to catch the bracket behind the bumper?

Are the different mounts for one piece vs. three piece bumpers? Do I need an additional piece?

I have the L or J looking mounts, I'll post a picture of what I have... tried searching and am coming up empty.

The fog or driving lamps were not a factory option until after AMC switched to 1 pc. bumper in 79. I have seen the top of the bumper guards on 3 pc. bumpers drilled for lamp mounting.

Well crap on a stick, that's not what I wanted to hear! Guess it's fabrication time then, drilling the top of those isn't acceptable for me :)

when my stock ones stopped working (have the original glass and all) I replaced
them with some SUPER halogen ones. Bolted them right to the spot where the
old ones were. I do need to take some loc-tite to the screws and such. Even the wife
said the look good. And those suckers are BRIGHT!!!!

Ill take a pic and show ya...

I just want to mount them above whatever these things are called.

Here's what I have and where it falls. Looks like I need a piece of angle iron to come up off the bumper bolt to meet up with this thing.

The bracket isn't in the right location left to right in that last pic, it would fall directly above the bumper bolt like in the second picture.

Those mounts are for a 1 piece bumper..... angle iron is what I would use like you said.

Aluminum would make short work out of it. You can buy short stock at Home Depot.
