Sanden based OBA set up?

Post by jaber »

OK, so the debate on the york is going on, but, my Caddy came with a Sanden style.
Does anyone have a link to a layout for using it? I guess my main question is how much pre-oil is needed to keep it from eating itself?
I know I'll need an inline oiler on the intake, and probable a separator after the pump.
Am I missing anything?

I followed that article to convert the compressor on the 4.0 I put in my Scrambler. It's worked Greg so far but I don't use it a ton.

I just pull the plug from the side and pump the grease in. Pumped what I thought was about half full.

Here's a good writeup: http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f125/grea ... ndex2.html

I used mine on my TJ without grease for a bit. I would take the hose off and squirt in some compresor oil once in awhile. Worked great for the quick fillups, but in a nasty rock garden I was trying to reseat a bead on my buddy's rig. Ended up burning up the compressor. I figured it would happen anyway, and the Sanden's for my TJ (Dodge 5.9) are $20 each in the yards. I'm going to grease mod this next one to try it out.

In the middle of the Sanden upgrade here.
There is a sticker on my compressor that says it came with 6.09OZ
