I repaired mine for my '82 using sections from two broken grilles (mine and a donor). The back of the grille is hollow and I filled it with Duraglass putty at the joints/breaks. Kittyhair putty or fiberglass mat and resin would likely work as well. A little filler on the cracks and a spray can silver/aluminum to finish. Been fine for more than a decade. The original color of my grille was dull silver, fortunately; black would be ok too. You'd have a hard time if the original grille was flash chrome, I'd expect.
