And looking at ssprings today im noticing that Dorman is selling all these springs now. Back when i did this to my GW they didnt.
So im curious if the Dorman springs are any good, they are ALL over the place now. I know dorman is hit or miss on things, but im curious if theyre made in the usa or not. I need a new spring for the J10 rear, but i might as well get a pair for the rear... but im deff hesitant on dorman..
The springs i got for my gw dont seem to be in stock and havent for awhile. Its hard to find 485 now from stanly springs.. So i dunno if theyre making dorman ? Or whats going on. I think ill call them

If so you might be able to get them locally with a break on shipping from your local truck spring and suspension service place. RockAuto used to stock Dayton springs, and they were even available on Amazon. Search online for "Dayton <above PN>" and you'll find some reference to them.
Yep. I am scouring the various sites and really doing a deep-dive on the costs. Some places quote a low price on the springs themselves, but charge between $150-$270 for shipping. Other places offer free shipping but crank up the cost of the springs to the point where it's at parity with other shops.... but the sales tax ends up higher because that's based on the spring prices.candymancan wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 10:31 am Man theyve gone up.. when i did my GW in this post it was like 600$ lol
Nice!candymancan wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 9:50 pm Update i orderd 97-485 two of them on amazon from dorman. Both are made in the USA both shipped from PA.
pa is where dayton is located.. dayton said to me they have a contract with dorman. So it seems legit.. mine are usa made.
How have the general springs held up?Blutarski wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2017 8:26 am candymancan,
Thanks for sharing the information on the springs and various suppliers. I ended up ordering from General Spring as well. Ordered set of rear springs yesterday at 3PM and were delivered this morning. I should note this was via the standard UPS (cheapest) shipping.

That's some impressive attention to detail!
