AMC 20 Pinion seal

Could anyone tell me what seal goes in behind the yoke on the pinion. The kit I ordered has on that inserts in to the housing but there is no seat for that kind and its like the brans new looking one I took out!! But the one with a flange that sits flush with the housing end makes more sense to me !!??
I don't have pictures right now because I'm traveling

Do you have the original?

Also what are your jeeps details year/make/ model.

Why are you saying it didn't work? It seals around the yoke, not the pinion itself.
