Well, I have no experience w/ bias ply tires. Ive got a set of Maxxis Bighorns that were brand new when I put them on 8 years ago, but they have sat, with the weight of the vehicle on them ever since (just got Wag running after all that time). So of course they are D shaped now.
Question is, should I bother trying to air them up to Max psi and run them to see if they warm up enough to get round again, or are they DONE and should be trashed (if not from the flat spots, then from the shear time they have been installed. I really dont want a separation or anything.
They dont seem to have an cracking or anything, and have held air fine for all those years.

If I hadn't worn a set of tires out within 6 years I'd replace them anyway.

Bias plys will actually egg shape if they sit too long. Which is different from flat spotting. You can try airing them way up and running them on a hot day at HWY speeds. But please inspect them for dry rot. 8 years for a tire to sit is a long time and they may be no longer usable.

Sorta what I was expecting. I was hoping to put off getting new tires until after the rig was fully street ready, just in case I hit another snag and it ends up sitting again. Guess I just wont drive it until Im sure its GTG!

Hey Ben I have a set of Cooper St's (31"x 10.5 x 15") They have a little tread left on them. Probably enough to drive on for a while?

I bought the tires/rims on my J20 from a guy on CL. He had them on a 60's 3/4 ton dodge for like 6-8 years while he restored it. Same story - he never drove on them the whole time.
The tires seem fine. They are 16.5's, but I think they are radial.
