Old Trucks

Post by sierrablue »

I know not everybody here is a Ford guy, and some of you guys love the new trucks. I really liked it, and it was cool to see a guy who normally drives new stuff start driving an old school truck and being impressed with it.

I love Dent/Bump side Fords. By far my favorite non-Jeep truck from the 70's.

I just completed a frame and engine swap on a 73 dent for a friend. Took a 73 ranger f250 that was in really nice condition other than being in a field since 1988 and put it on a 97 dodge 2500 chassis with a 12 valve Cummins and a 6 speed manual making it a more modern highboy clone. My job was to do the heavy lifting making run, drive and stop. He’s finishing the electrical and interior. Going to be a sweet truck.

Very nice fit of the body on the Dodge chassis. Almost like it was made for it.

Thanks! we thought it was, only 1-1/4” difference in wheel base. Allowed us to push the rear axle back just a bit to align with the wheel well better than Ford did lol.
