Anyone from Wisconsin?

Post by thej10guy »

Hey everybody. I am new to the fsj world, and I just bought two fairly recently and they are the only ones I know of in the area. I live near la crosse Wisconsin, and they are the only two I know of in the area, so I’m just trying to see if anyone has any in area.

From Wisconsin but across the state, in Racine just north of Kenosha. I also recently purchased a couple Jeeps while on vacation last year! New to Jeeps though.

Well welcome to jeeps. I’m also fairly new to owning them myself, but have been apart of the jeep world through my parents who have had them for a while. Since you are from around Kenosha, I assume you are going to the AMC homecoming show in kenosha at the end of july?

Welcome to the forum. I live in Racine WI as well. Just about 10 mins south of the milwaukee boarder.
I've been driving my J10 for about 8 or 9 yrs but recently decided to do a complete restoration so it won't be on the road for a couple yrs (fingers crossed). I am hoping for a rather quick turnaround, considering the expense, time and dealing with seasonality.

Well I’m glad that there’s at least a couple people on here from Wisconsin. Once all of our trucks are up and working we should try and meet up sometime and talk J-trucks.

I'm all for it but it might be some time. :)
I have a lot of work ahead of me

Feel free to reach out if you need anything. I'm happy to help if possible. Also check out some of the Facebook groups. I met a couple guys in the WI/MN area who have been helpful also.

Yeah it will be some time before mine is ready too. It’s undergoing some major bed surgery right now and I have some frame repairs to complete before they are ready to make a trip to anywhere near Racine other than on a trailer

My dad is on some Facebook FSJ groups but I don’t have Facebook yet so I’m not on any. I have debated getting Facebook but I just don’t feel like it with all the BS going on with news and politics and stuff that I don’t feel like being involved in. I’m 15 so I technically can and I will probably will get it soon but I’m not willing to bite the bullet yet.

Yeah I'm in north central MN. Also sick of the FB BS, well actually social media in general. I'm not on IFSJA so much anymore 'cause it got too political too much, and here I am.

Not trying to hijack, but anybody in the north central US in general? Seems like most FSJers are in the south/west/southwest (which makes some sense because that's where they last).

There are 2 major differences between new Wranglers and FSJs. FSJs are meant to be both utilitarian and capable, not just capable. FSJs are also rarely initially recognized as Jeeps by the average American.
