And you say, "I have a suggestion to help with the aesthetics"...

See, for some of us, we have to find someone and get our lives started before we stand any shot at that :-bd

There are 2 major differences between new Wranglers and FSJs. FSJs are meant to be both utilitarian and capable, not just capable. FSJs are also rarely initially recognized as Jeeps by the average American.

When the time comes, choose wisely grasshopper. I had to go two rounds to get it right. This one loves vehicles on a frame and manual transmissions!

Thanks, I'm sure I will if/when anything ever happens. Time will tell.

That's a great photo! I like the photographers decision to go gray scale.

Some fantastic life advice!

I found a pretty good screening technique. I used to assemble engines in the dining room in my apartment. If they were appalled, they got a nice escort to the door. If they were intrigued, they’d get to get to spend some time. Then I had one come over that not only was intrigued, but knew that it was a 360 dodge and we spent the evening completing it together, I was a goner, hook, line, and sinker. That was over 30 years ago and she’s still here and supporting our adventure together.
The bus I ride is so short it is a yellow Smart Car full of squirrels, monkeys and clowns.

As far as I'm concerned, as long as she's not upset/doesn't try to tell me I can't work on cars, I don't care too much whether she's into cars or not. I mean I like cars a lot, but there IS more to me ;)

That is an awesome story though :D

I like it! That takes a fair bit of knowledge to recognize an engine in detail like that. I can see why you were smitten! Evidently, your decision making matrix was right on. Congratulations for finding one of the right ones... it seems she found the same. Reminded me of my first apartment at 17, built a Triumph T100R hardtail in the living room on a couple of bed sheets over the carpet. My parents were not impressed. Very few ladies came over and those that did were, as you say, appalled.
Thanks for sharing your story Yeller

She does good work, I was impressed with the final product as well. Several shots were in gray. I was able to sneak a few in color!

I think you have healthy expectations. Not to get too deep but like you said, there is more. A partnership is all about give and take. Show some interest in her and her wants and desires and she'll be yours forever and will be supportive of yours. It took me 20 years and a ton of life experience (heartache and stupid decisions) to figure this out. I'm not done yet... still enjoying the journey with a lot more wisdom and humility.
May God bless your journey, Sierra.

 I love that but it obviously worked. I was racing back when we were dating and when she stayed at a race that ran into the wee hours of the morning to help me switch back to street tires in the rain, I knew she was a keeper. We'll be married for 39 years this October. We travel, go to car shows and do road tours all over the country in my Javelin.

Awesome picture OP!

Thanks. I've been told I'll do better in college, and from what I can tell, it seems to be true, but we'll just see how it goes.
