Recreating Old Jeep Ads

Post by sierrablue »

Has anyone else been doing this? Feel free to add yours if you've done the same thing...

I know there's less snow, I have locking hubs, a light-colored Jeep, two mirrors, and the toboggan is different, but still...

There are 2 major differences between new Wranglers and FSJs. FSJs are meant to be both utilitarian and capable, not just capable. FSJs are also rarely initially recognized as Jeeps by the average American.

I also came really close in the summer of 2021...didn't know it at the time or I'd have snagged another shot.

Pretty cool!

I think if you held the camera a bit lower, and added some film grain to the photo, it would look pretty close (minus color difference of course).

Yeah...funny thing about that; I was standing on a 2' ledge and in the weeds, trying to keep branches out of the shot. I was either too high or too low...no real happy medium unfortunately.

But hey, I know how I need to go about tying the toboggan to the roof now :)

This is a fun idea. My jeep is a bit too modified to be convincing though.
