Overland Expo East

Post by Harry Dawg »

Went to Overland Expo East in Arrington, VA earlier this month. The event was nice, and fall was just settling into the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Did some hiking on the Appalachian Trail, and caught some nice views.

The event was an optional 3-5 day camping event, but we stayed in an Air B'N'B. (4 dudes and one short bed F150 is a bit of a squeeze for overlanding)

One of my good buddies growing up ended up working at the Toyota booth next to us, so that was cool to catch up with him. All exhibitors got a free beer once a day at the lounge area, so after our shifts we would go and watch live music and hangout for a couple hours.

Mainly pickups at this event. A few Gladiators but probably 5% Jeeps. Mostly Toyotas, Ford pickups and Land Rovers surprisingly. Lots of cool rigs though as far as camping and uplifting goes. Here are some pics.

There were also a bunch of cool distilleries and brew houses, so we had to make the rounds and sample some local hooch.
