Door jamb switch

Post by wewillsurvive »

Anyone know the part number for the door jamb switch on an 86 GW?

I got what I thought was the right one but destroyed it when I shut the door, post was too long.

Alternators, winches, 4x4, guns all have the same issue if you don't have any knowledge of them usually bad things will happen. Serehill

You have to adjust the post yourself. Get the post short enough manually and then close the door SLOWLY to manually adjust it with the door.

I have done this once as well - then had to buy another one :banghead: . I think that you take a block of wood and push the plunger and sleeve in until it is almost flush.

Guess I should've came on here and asked before I put it in, I was so excited to see the cabin lighting working with my drivers door I never thought about it being wrong until I heard the crunch.
